Times Tables

On Monday Mrs Anderson's maths group created a DLO using any maths strategy that we wanted. Me and my partner Nickaela decided to choose this strategy because it is simple and easy to use. The questions that we were solving is: How many green triangles mama needs to make a Tivaevae. To find out what the answer to the question is listen to our Screencastify that explains how we got our answer.

Hot Money - Summarising

Image result for hot money by bill nagelkerke

Mishaan and I created this DLO because in reading we have been doing novel study's. Mishaan and I picked this book called Hot Money and started reading up to chapter 2. After we finished reading the book we decided to do a summary  about what we have read so far. We wrote down 20 important words from the text. Then we picked the 6 most important words from the 20 words. Next we formed a sentence with the 6 most important words. I really enjoyed working collaboratively with my partner Mishaan.

Badminton - Week 3

Today for Kiwi Sports with Kevin, we were learning how to grip the racket for forehand and backhand, and how to control our swing and the direction of the shuttlecock. We began by practicing volleying the shuttlecock on our rackets. Then we had to get a partner and one person threw the shuttlecock and the other person had to try and hit it back to them.  We then had a rally with our partner to see how many times we could hit it back and forward to each other. We also learnt about the stance to use when moving towards the shuttlecock. My partner today for badminton was Joshua V.

Writing Explanation

How children learn at school

Children are curious to know things. They learn in many different ways. If they don’t know what to do they ask for help. They watch others and copy them because learning is a big part of their lives.

They are curious to learn things because they want to be able to do it. They ask for feedback and feed forward so that they can improve in the areas they need more improvement on. They watch their friends to learn new things. They help themselves by taking risks.

They learn about things that interests them. When children take risks  not only are they learning learning new things, they also get an experience of what it is like.

Children practice their skills to improve their learning. One of the things they do is ask questions and focus more. They gain knowledge from others by asking and use it to improve their skills.

Children are curious to learn things. Not all the time children know what to do so, they ask questions. They learn in many different ways. learning is a big part of their lives. They watch others and copy them.

I wrote this together with my partner Oh hsen. After we had finished we went to another pair and asked them to proof read it. We also asked them to give us feedback and feed-forward.

Screencastify

On Friday Mrs Grant showed us how to use Screencastify. Mrs Grant was teaching us step by step. We then started to make our screencastify's. What we did was find one of our maths DLO's to do a screencastify about and I have chosen my fractions DLO. My question is 112 + 84. Before Mrs Grant came to show us how to record using screencastify, LS2 made a script so we could be prepared and so we know what to say while we are recording about our Math DLO's. I really enjoyed learning how to make a screencastify because it is easier for me now to record about my thinking and work.
