Mary Seacole

This week my task was to research someone with a positive attitude despite the difficulties they have faced. The person that I found was Mary Seacole. I choose her because I think she has a positive attitude despite the difficulties and I know this because she was a Nurse and was injured in the Crimean war. For this activity I was working with Sakae and Ma'ata.

Week 3 Dance

Today in dance we had to get into our groups from last week and practice the exercises that we created last week. After we had finished doing our warm ups we all had to do Ofa's and Josh's warm up . When we finished Ofa and Josh's warm up we had to get back into our groups and try to make a triangle, square, and a circle shape with any body part. It was really hard to make the shapes because we all had different ideas but we combined our ideas to make one dance that we all liked. Today in dance we learned the difference and the meaning between a free flow dance and a bound flow dance. The people in my group were Sakae and Zahra. This week Mrs Anderson was our dance teacher.

World Of Maths

Yesterday at school after lunch we went to the hall and Mrs A put us into groups with LS1. When we were all in our groups Mrs A, Mr Ogilvie, and Charles sent all the groups to different tables. Charles is the man who works for world of maths. The First table that my group went to was Off the Islands. The people in my group were Sakae, Sila, Giovanni, and Zane. My favorite activity out of all the maths rotations was the first activity that we did called Off the islands. I liked this activity because it was really hard at first but once you really think about it you will finally get it. While we were working out the problems we had to also think about key composites. We also had to work together as a team and collaborate with each other.

Dance in LS2

In the morning and middle block we did dance.  In dance Mrs Anderson said we had to create our own warm up routine. My partners were Sa kae and Zahra we watched warm up videos to get some inspiration. Making up the moves was easy but doing them was really hard. Warming up and stretching before you have a sports event it can help you move a lot easier, but if you warm up and stretch to much you will lose some of your strength to do something. This was a very fun task to complete and I cant wait till next week.

Conserving Water

On Friday Sa Kae, Shakaia and I started this DLO. The question that we had too ask our self was, People living Auckland have been ask to conserve water but why. Our DLO Shows our learning and thinking about the question we were given. It took a little bit of time to figure out what we were going to write about but in the end we figured it in the end. I have always loved inquiry. So tell me how can people living in Auckland conserve water and how?

Rockets

On Friday the year 7's and 8's stayed at tamaki college after tech to make rockets with Mr Dunn. Mr Dunn showed us a video of some rockets taking off. Then he showed us a video on how to make a straw rocket. This DLO shows our aim, our hypothesis, our method, our results, our conclusion, our evaluation, and the meaning of the symbols in the top right hand corner. In this presentation I worked with Afu, Breeana, Sakae, Ma'ata, and Chalize. If you want to know how to make a straw rocket go to my other blog post called Straw Rockets.

Quick Writing

Today we were focusing around narratives writing because next term in week 3 we will be writing about narratives. We used the narrative criteria. The 1st sentence is about who the main character is. Then the 2nd is about where he/she lives. The 3rd is about sentence describes the characters talent. The 4th sentence is about the problem. The 5th  sentence is about how the character felt and then the last sentence is about how the problem is solved. I worked collaboratively with charlize and Sakae. I think we will do really well and good in our writing assessments.

Chunky challenge - Sub

Due to global warming, cities could be completely Submerged. The only way to get around the city was by travelling in a Submarine. The temperature had reached Subzero. The Subway had completely vanished. As Evelyn hopped out of the train she realized she stepped on subsoil and noticed that she was sinking, this was subnormal.

Today for writing we did our chunky challenge we had to look for words that start with sub and write it in the document. Then we had to write a paragraph with 8 or 5 of the words in it then post it.
