For the past few weeks we have been doing cross country training. LS1 and LS2 have been working hard to get more fit for the semi finals. Who ever comes 1st, 2nd, or 3rd you go to the inter schools final. For the training we have to run from the court down the path around by the hill and through LS2 and the library then to the court. This week we had to do 5 laps. We had to pace ourselves so we can get fit for the semi finals.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Mrs Anderson and Ms Kirkpatrick.

Auckland netball center
last week on Wednesday the year 8, 7, 6, and 5 went to the Auckland netball center for a inter school competition. There were 40 teams that took place at the netball center. The team that I was in was called Panmure Bridge School 2. The first team we played was Ruapotaka. The winner in that game was Ruapotaka. The next team we played was Tamaki Primary. We won 6-3. After that game we played Glen Inns school. We won 6-4. Our next team we played was Stone Fields. It was a hard game but we won 8-3.The fifth school we played was Point England. We won 6-5. Our final team we faced was Panmure Bridge School 1. It was really weird because we where playing our own school, but unfortunately we lost to Panmure Bridge School 1.I also thank Mr. O, Ms. Naicker, and Ms. Caroline for supervising us at the netball courts and a big thank you to the girls from the Otahuhu college for couching us.
Run Jump Throw
One week ago we did run jump throw. The yr 8's and the yr 7's went together as a class. The photo's show what we did. In run jump throw we first played octopus to warm us up. After the game of octopus we did some starters. We had to be 1 meter away from the line and when Andy said on your marks everyone had to put one of their legs in front of the line and there other foot at the back. When she said set we had do check to check and look strait ahed. As soon as she clapped her hands everyone ran to the other side of the court. In the next activity we had to find a partner my partner was Ma'ata. Andy gave us a cone and we had to put it on the line behind us. We had to sit on the opposite side of each other and we had to jump up and grab the cone then run back and sit down. Then we had to lie down and then jump up and grab our cones.
Warriors visit
Yesterday the sportsmen from the warriors team ,Ryan Hoffman,John Palavi, Allas from DTR and Georgia came to our school and talked to us about hydration, sleep, and belonging. We also did a quiz. If you got the awnser right you got a prize. The prizes where a water bottle and a warriors bag.
Magic Box Poem
I will put into the box …
The silky black fur off my blind cats back
My mum’s red flowers inside the box.
My photos of when I was born.
I will put into the box …
Jewelry made of diamonds gleaming in the sunshine.
The sharp white shell from the sandy white beach.
The tiny plastic hospital band from when I was born.
I will put into the box …
Memories of happy times when I win my games.
Food with the taste of delicious gooey caramel.
My country’s flag proudly waving in the wind on the Olympic pole.
My box is fashioned from shining gold and sparkling gems, with butterflies bursting with color on the lid and I will put all my secrets in the corners.
Its hinges are made out of yummy red & white striped candy bars.
I shall dream in my box.
This week's writing we had to use our imagination to write your own magic box poem that paints a picture in our minds of the person reading the poem. My partner in this activity was Ma'ata.
